Ik hoop dat zij naar kijken en stimuleren de groei van deze vorm van technologie door het produceren van waterstof voor de nodige brandstof. Ik hoop dat elke andere groep mensen volgt pak.
There will always be a market for oil, just perhaps not as much.
yeah me too
they will switch to hybrid because that will be the trend worldwide and they have to be ‘with it’ …….. besides who will make cars with gas tanks.
The desert.
I don’t know but oh, how I would love to turn the tables on them.
Maybe we could completely rid ourselves of a need of their oil and then slow our grain production down to keep export prices high. It would be a page straight out of their book.
But wait! Our government would never let us do that, it would be price fixing. Only foreigners can do that.
With great disdain. Be tough watching those guys sit on all that oil wont it?
Should bring about a whole seperate set of problems from the Middle East – anyone care to speculate on that?
well believe u me arabs handle all sorts of cars and are always much enthusiastic about owning everything nice n new in market
Seriously, I don’t think they care. There are enough gas-powered cars world wide to keep OPEC busy for a long time.
But I do agree with you on the hydrogen-powered car being a good thing. Ronald Regan said it best: ““Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.”
For them but in the long run they will cry when they will cry when they buy it makes me want to buy it makes me want to 90 mpg.
Since they will only have 200 of these cars available over the next 3 years I don’t think they’re worried. The car probably costs $100,000 or more which is why it’s only available for lease and hydrogen is still in it’s infancy. No refueling stations means you need a home refueling station and limits your range.
I don’t think it’s correct to blame OPEC, I saw an analysis that indicated that oil prices would still be around $60 a barrel if there was no oil speculation market and in the US part of the problem is a very weak dollar. But it’s a good thing overall, not only are we using less oil than before but many alternative fuels are gaining ground, such as ethanol from algae or switchgrass (not corn), electric cars and hybrids using new battery technologies such as the lithium-ion batteries that don’t leak even if crushed that the Chevy Volt will use, and solar thermal to generate that energy.
Hydrogen on demand would be a better alternative to a big tank of highly combustible gas, think of the Hindenburg, but that is still years away. The FCX is a step in the right direction and the home refueling station is a great idea, able to provide emergency power to your home in addition to powering your car. But it produce hydrogen from natural gas which does release CO2 even though operating the car doesn’t. Natural gas is still a fossil fuel so they need to pair the fuel cell with an electrolysis device to produce the hydrogen, possibly using nano-materials that QSI has developed.
